NGK recently came out with ruthenium plugs. They’re worth using on that! And also, NGK’s wires are a pretty blue color and they. ’re numbered :o)
I HATE the not-almighty-at-all
transverse V6! But at least mine has cut
outs in the intake to access the rear plugs/coils

Alternative plan; Take the Malibu down to Dodge and turn it into a Charger.
Power go up, Room inside go up, fun go up, engine change direction, spark plug change difficulty go down. Win-win for everybody!

Agreed. I've been saying this for years, especially after I discovered that the rear plugs on my hated Windstar could only be changed from below. Fuck that - it's not a frigging Boxster...

It could be worse.

I don’t hate the Compromise Layout, but only if its a 1995 Maxima. The one transverse V6 that you can actually work on

I have a 96 I30. Yeah it’s probably the
least-shitty transverse V6, but it does still suck tho

Can you do the remove upper engine mount and rock the engine forward trick on the Malibu? This is a savior on all the other T-V6s out of gm.

I did the plugs and wires on my ‘02 Explorer. Longitudinal V-6 for the win!

I am used to working on Semi Trucks and Trailers. Everything that doesn’t require an acetylen torch to undo bolts is a breeze as long as you can actually get to things.

Eh, just reached back and got them. It sucked, but wasn’t the end of the world.

So still better than the Highlander V6, you have to remove the intake plenum/manifold to even see the plugs.
